| SafeData Partners with EVault over Disaster Recovery Offering |
| SafeData, LLC, has announced its partnership with EVault, Inc. EVault's Internet-based backup technology will be a key component of the SafeData disaster recovery (SafeData/DR) product, enabling organizations to meet their business
continuity requirements. |
| EVault provides online (disk-to-disk) backup services to protect its clients' mission-critical data. When clients suffer data loss or disaster, EVault automatically sends the client's data to SafeData's Medford, Mass. data center where
the data is loaded onto a secure server. The clients are then able to immediately access their data through a virtual private network (VPN) until their own servers are operational again. |
| SafeData/DR is a disaster recovery service for companies with a recovery time objective of 10 hours or less. SafeData/DR provides point-in-time capture of changed data through the Internet and stores them off-site. The incremental data are
compressed and encrypted. In the event of a failure, SafeData would perform a disk-to-disk restore of the client's data to a stand-by server in one of its data centers, enabling the client to be up and running within the recovery time objective.
The lower cost of both the middleware and hardware makes SafeData/DR a cost-effective solution for companies who do not need high availability |
| The company's SafeData/HA service replicates data in realtime to an offsite data center, then provides a "mirror" of a customer's data and applications in case of planned or unplanned downtime. Its SafeData/DR service provides a disk-to-disk
restore of data to a server in one of its data centers - in Warwick, Rhode Island, and Medford, Massachusetts - to provide continuity in case of a disaster. SafeData also provides a hot site for data recovery. |
| SafeData uses products from Lakeview and EVault for its services offerings, and it's evaluating other products to add to its services. |
