SafeData/DR (data recovery) provides the necessary encryption technology to properly protect personally identifiable information when it is lost or stolen.

Massachusetts and Nevada are the first two states to pass legislation, although many other states are expected to follow suit in the near future. The Nevada Electronic Transmission Encryption Law (NRS 597.970) prohibits any business within the state from electronically transferring (i.e. email, website) personally identifiable information outside of their secure system without it being encrypted. The Massachusetts Privacy Law (201 CMR 17.00) also requires the use of encryption when transmitting across public or wireless networks, as well as all information that is stored on laptops and other portable devices.
